A ridicoulus rant about things that are mildly important to me

Practical use of our school time.
In school we learn a lot of important things, or things that could be important if we go into a job field that can use the things we learn. People who plan to be scientists, can use things like knowledge of basic cell units. That also brings up another point it’s just BASIC knowledge it isn’t even really all we would need to know to specialize in a job.  So I think we should have specialized classes so people can learn things they plan to use in a job.
Knowing a little about everything can be important like addition, subtraction, how our bodies work etc. But not all of the stuff we learn is very practical. Sometimes it just seems like we are learning useless facts that we just have to memorize for the next test.  I am learning in geometry how to find the side lengths, and angle measures of a triangle without being told. How many jobs can you list that could use that? A carpenter, a math teacher. Not many that is for sure, that’s because it’s not very practical it isn’t something we will us everyday. Things that could be useful are social skills how to balance a check, how to write a resume, and useful skills, that employers will look for.
Their of course is the problem that kids may not know what they want to do. But if we could find some way to evaluate skills and play to peoples strengths we could use tha to decide what some one wants to do. Of course they would still be able to cose what kinds of jobs they will pick in the future. And even if they decide to go into a different job field then what they practiced and that’s perfectly fine. If they decide to change the classes they take in the middle of their high school career they would just be switched into the basic unit for the field their switching into.
I recommend that we use classes that are specialized for groups of students depending on what field of work they want to engage in after their school time.  Even some students who have had a high school education, and sometimes even a college education can’t get jobs just because it’s hard to find a job in this economy.  This would also prepare them for getting a job right out of high school.

Three topics that i've taken the time to write about ifunowhamsayin.

A practical use of our school time.

School teaches you a lot of things. I mean, you spend 12 years of sitting in a class room having a teacher tell you things like how to find the side lengths of a triangle, or how to reduce a fraction to it's lowest correct form, which can be useful for some students. But I believe that we should learn practical things, things we could use in real life like how to decide what job you want to take when you finally graduate from high school. I think that maybe instead of learning things that only some of us can use, we should have specialized classes so people can pursue skills that will make them better at what they plan to make a living on. Things like business classes, or entertainment classes for people who plan to specialize in that field.

Implementing technology into school learning.

Using technology in school can bring a a lot of new and exciting things into our curriculum. Some are very handy like being able to use the internet without going to the school computer lab, that teachers have to sign up in advance just to get a class in there. But with something like i-pads students can access the internet as well as many other useful apps.  But having access to the internet at any time can also be a bad thing, students can use it to goof off during class and the possibilities are endless. So technology may be the new step in an educational revolution or just an expensive toy kids can use to mess around.

Homophobia is for losers.
Homophobia technically means Someone with a fear of Homosexuals. But that really isn't what it means in a modern context it just means that you don't like/agree with he idea of a same sex couple. Which I think is wrong, at the end of the day their a couple that loves each other so regardless of gender they should be able to be together without public ridicule. People ae often bullied in school for being "gay" even if sometimes their not.

The Couch Crew Strikes Again

The couch crew is a group in the GSA were the members sit on the couch in the back no one has ever investigated what they do over there.

The esteemed leaders of the GSA as you can see they are cold and unforgiving people. Not really though Devon and Betsy are great leaders.

Matt Fox and his new baby girl Millie.

Betsy and John having a good old fashioned tango.

Some people don't even know that acceptance is right around the corner. This is just one of the many posters scattered around the school.

Of course this is the freshman gang hanging out being lame.

Lunch

No matter what you do in the GSA it's still a place to hang out wit friends and eat lunch. Laughing eating an having fun!
